FINGER LAKES HEALTH SYSTEMS AGENCY

The Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency (FLHSA) is the leader in community based health planning and works to promote the health of the region's population by:

  • providing a "community table" where all stakeholders meet;
  • conducting outreach to community groups;
  • retaining extensive data on the region's health and health care.

The FLHSA traces its roots back to the inception of health care planning in the early 1960s and has received national recognition from the American Health Planning Association and the American Public Health Association. Through its many projects, the organization continues to strive to ensure the region's population receives the right care, at the right place, at the right time.

This website includes information on the Agency's current and past projects, certificate of need activities, publications, data sources, and staff. Also included are mini-sites for the following projects:

Community Health 2020 Commission on System Performance (2020 Performance Commission) which is working to develop the infrastructure to support a patient-centered health care delivery system which provides quality care for the entire community, reduce health disparities, and manage demand for acute hospital services. The work of this Commission has developed out of the recommendations of the 2020 Commission which was convened in 2008.

Sage Commission which is working to create a strategic vision of person-centered aging for the year 2020 and beyond.

African-American Health Coalition and the Latino Health Coalition which convene community members and health professionals to identify and address the pressing health issues confronting their respective local communities.

For the recently released Community Health Scan please see the Publications section of the website.
